La Grange High School announced today that Landon Von Minden has been named a Commended Student in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

The TSIA2 test will be offered at LHS on Tues, Oct 10th beginning at 8:30am in the Library. Junior and Senior class students received an email with instructions for registering for the test. Please encourage your student to check their email and review the attached flyer for additional session dates and information.

On September 28, La Grange High School Counselors met with students and discussed Suicide Prevention Resources. Please see their presentation below:

This past Saturday the Mighty Leopard Band competed in the US Bands Ludwig Musser Classic in Converse, Tx. There were 28 bands across all classes. The MLB won 1st Place in Group 2 - which had 9 Bands - with a Caption Award for Outstanding Overall Effect. The band advanced to Finals as the 11th overall seed and competed against the best from all 5 groups. They finished the night in 10th place ahead of a band twice their size. Congratulations, Band!



Senior picture day is this coming Wednesday, October 4th. Students will go during English class, and must be in dress code. Seniors will get proofs delivered to the school about a month after picture day, and can order prints from these proofs. Contact lucy.carr@lgisd.net if you have any questions.

Don't forget that picture day for 9-11 grade is this coming Monday, October 2nd. Students will go during English class, and must be in dress code. If they have a pre-paid envelope to order prints, they must bring it Monday and give it to the photographer.
