Congratulations to these La Grange High School Art students! Their artwork has moved on to the next round of judging in the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Western Art Competition. The works will hang at the Hayloft Gallery at NRG Park during the Rodeo.
We will host our local Community Western Art Show on Saturday February 10th from 11am-1pm. The show will be open to the public and over 150 artworks will be on display 1st-12th grade. Please join us to view the artwork and support our students!

Class of 2025 and 2026:
The National Honor Society is a national organization for high school students. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The La Grange Chapter is beginning the selection process for new members for the 2023-25 school year. If you have taken at least one advanced class and believe you have a cumulative GPA of 90.0 or above through the fall semester of Sophomore (Class of 2026) or Junior (Class of 2025) year, please complete the google form: 2024-2025 NHS REQUEST FOR GPA CALCULATION that was sent to your school email. The form must be completed by the student through their school email by the end of the day on Friday, February 23rd. If you did not receive the email, please send an email to lhs_counselors@lgisd.net with NHS in the subject line. Students who submit the form after February 23rd at 3:30 will be ineligible to apply for the 24-25 school year.

On Saturday, January 19th, the Association of Texas Small School Bands presented its concert for the All-Region Jazz Band and Middle School All-Region Concert Bands at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm PAC in Bastrop. Vanessa Adams (keyboard), Jose Estrada (trumpet) and Dominick Smith (alto saxophone) represented LHS as part of this elite group. Each was featured on an improvisation solo, and the concert was overall stunning. Congratulations to these outstanding student musicians!


La Grange High School Class of 2024: Counselors will host a presentation on the Local Scholarship Process this Thursday, January 25th at 5:30 pm in the HS Cafeteria. Senior Class Parents (along with their senior student) are encouraged to attend. Senior Class Students received their updated 7-semester transcript during their scholarship student informational meeting held yesterday.

High School Report Card #3 and Fall Semester Grades may be viewed in the Parent Portal. If you need assistance, please contact Mrs. Hensley at the HS Office 979-968-4800. Eligibility was affected Tuesday, 1/16/2024 at 3:25pm. If your child has not received credit due to excessive absences, please contact the HS Office on how to make up these hours. Delayed Start Schedule - 2 Hour Delay - 17 January 2024


On Saturday, January 6th, 12 students from the La Grange High School Band competed at the ATSSB Area Central Audition to determine who would who advance to the ATSSB All-State 4A Symphonic Band.
Jose Estrada, senior trumpet player, won the Area Central Trumpet audition for the third consecutive year and punched his ticket to the All-State Band! He will travel to San Antonio next month to rehearse with the band, culminating in a concert at 8:30 AM in the Lila Cockrell Theater inside the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center.
Several other students placed well at the audition, despite not advancing. Westin Smith, senior, placed 2nd and is 1st Alternate on Euphonium. Anthony Anzaldua, sophomore, was 2nd on Bass Clarinet. Jill Newton, senior, placed 3rd in Alto Saxophone. Dominick Smith, junior alto saxophone, placed 5th. Devin Cooper, sophomore, placed 3rd on Bassoon.
Other Area Qualifiers from La Grange HS include: Chloe Coufal, sophomore clarinet, Hannah Holman, junior clarinet, Ray Moore, sophomore baritone saxophone, Gerardo Gomez, sophomore trumpet, Brazos Vick, senior tuba, and Jacob Bridgefarmer, sophomore tuba.
