Today, HS Counselors visited with Seniors to encourage students to start applying to the colleges or trade schools. Its time to apply! Students were also provided a timeline for the college/trade school admissions.

The criteria for eligible students include:
* GPA of 3.5 or higher.
* PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 assessment scores that are within the top 10% of assessment takers in each state for each award program or earned a score of 3 or higher on 2 or more AP Exams in 9th and 10th grade.
* Attend school in a rural area or small town, or identify as African American/Black, Hispanic American/Latino, or Indigenous/Native.
Eligible students are invited to apply on BigFuture during their sophomore or junior year and are awarded at the start of the next school year in time to share their achievements in high school as they plan for the future.

Yearbooks for the 2024-24 school year are in! They will be available for drive thru pickup at the High School main entrance from 5pm-7pm on Monday August 5th.
Please stop by then to get your books!
We have a few extra copies to sell on the day too. Exact cash or check only. $70 for high school and $25 for middle and elementary books.
If you cannot come Monday, we will also be distributing them at the campus open house events, or you can pick them up from your school office once school starts. (If your student is on a different campus this year, their yearbooks will be available at their new campus.)

LHS Semester Exam Announcement: Spring Semester Exams begin tomorrow! The Spring 2024 semester exam schedule is attached for your review.
Reminder on key information:
Students who are exempting an exam must remain on campus during the designated testing time.
Tested students must remain in the classroom for the entirety of the testing period.
Exempted students must remain in the gymnasium until the end of the testing period.
Exempt students are required to stay in their tested classrooms if not sent to the gym immediately.
Students that owe attendance hours need to remain on campus to complete makeup hours.


Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Fayette County is offering the Real World Simulation to our LHS seniors today. Real World Simulation is a program that teaches young adults about the basics of personal finance. During this program, students will learn the knowledge about skills that they will need to navigate their own financial future.
