1) Picture Day for 9-11 grade is Tuesday October 6th in the High School Gym.
In-person learners: During English classes this week, you will be given a pre-order form to take home. Make sure you bring payment in the envelope with you on Picture Day, if you don't preorder online. You will have your photo taken during your English classes.
On the day, wear your mask all the time, until you are instructed to take it off quickly by the photographer, and keep spaced apart while you wait in line.
At-home learners: We have order forms in the school office for you or a family member to pick up. On Picture Day, bring your order form with you, and come to the high school gym at 3.30pm to have your photo taken once school is over.
Quarantined learners: If you are in quarantine on Picture Day, you are not allowed to come to campus, but we will have a retake day a few weeks later, so you can have your photo taken then.

This Saturday, Sept. 12, is the Senior Paint War...starts at 9am at the field between the gyms and the baseball complex.
A flyer is going home tomorrow with details but here are few pertinent pieces:
MASKS at all times, phones locked in cars.
Bring your own paint.
Yearbook is taking pictures and a drone will be filming the event.
Parents can attend but must stay in cars (for safety reasons).
Only LGISD staff will be on the field to supervise.
Asking kids to check in at the table before entering the "paint zone"
At the end, we'll take 1-2 group photos and then asking everyone to depart school grounds. Should be over by 10 am.
Seniors at school have been great. Most understand we have to abide by the rules, whether you agree or not with them, so we can have more events.

Monday August 3rd, 4-6 pm in the the High School parking lot.
If you are unable to attend the drive thru distribution, the books will be at the school office and available for pick up Thursday during regular office hours.

Important Football Dates attached! Can’t wait to see our 10-12 football players at 9:00am on Monday, and our 9th graders at 2:30pm. Make sure all paperwork is complete, and bring your mask.
Drive-thru pickup for the High School yearbooks will be Monday August 3rd from 4pm-6pm at the high school! Please read all the info for details:
* If you ordered books for high school and the other two campuses, we will package them together and you can pick them up Monday.
* If you ordered Elementary and Middle School books, you can pick them all up at the Middle school Tuesday.
* To make pick up run as smoothly as we can, please display a sign on the passenger side of your car with the name and grade of the student(s) the book is for.
* If you cannot remember if you ordered, please go to yearbookforever.com and go to Find An Order (top right of screen) and follow on-screen instructions. If that doesn’t work, email Lucy.carr@lgisd.net and I’ll get back to you before Monday.
* If you didn't order a book but still want one, please come by. We should have some extra copies but they will be on first come, first serve basis. Please bring $25 in cash or check for the Elementary and Middle School books or $65 cash or check for High School. Checks made payable to LGISD.
* If you are unable to attend the drive thru distribution, the books will be at the school offices and available for pick from Thursday afternoon during their office hours.

Football parent meeting is cancelled for next week due to restrictions. The information that was to be covered will be posted on our Athletics page at www.lgisd.net. Please make sure your UIL packet is completed and turned in by 7/28.
Freshmen FB Camp will now be 3 days of Freshmen only football skills instead due to restrictions. Free of charge, and urge all to attend. It will be next Wed. 7/29 - Fri. 7/31 from 8:30-10:00 at Leopard Stadium. Can’t wait to see all of our Freshmen to kickoff their HS careers!
EDGE ramps up again Monday morning with High School boys at 8:30, and All other Non-High School Volleyball athletes at 10:30. Don't forget to fill out the pre-screening form, bring your own water, and must have on a face covering upon arrival.
