La Grange Band Families and Friends,

Due to a scheduling conflict, the upcoming LHS Band Spring Concert at the Festival Hill Institute had to be moved to Tuesday, May 13th. This has created an opportunity for an even larger showcase, since this overlaps with our 6-8th grade band concerts.

We will now hold a combined La Grange ISD Bands Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 13th, 6 PM at the Festival Hill Institute! There is no admission charge. The address is 248 Jaster Rd, Round Top, TX 78954. The concert will begin at 6 PM with the LES Beginner Band, followed by the LMS Concert Band, LMS Symphonic Band, LHS Symphonic Winds, and closing with the LHS Wind Ensemble. The concert should last just under two hours.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused for our high school parents and students by the date change. At the same time, we are very excited for our 6-8th grade students to share this amazing opportunity to perform on stage at one of the top music halls in Texas! This will also provide a bigger crowd for all of our band students!

Here are the details for Tuesday’s Concert for all band members and guardians:

Arrive at the High School Band Hall between 4:00-4:30 PM. 6th Graders should dress in their nicest clothes, or “Sunday Best”. All other students must wear Concert Black, including black, closed toe shoes.

4:30 PM - Load the buses
4:40 PM - Leave for Festival Hill
5:10 PM - Arrive at Festival Hill Concert Hall. Unload and set up.
6:00 PM - Concert Begins!
8:00 PM - Approximate end time. Load equipment and buses.
8:30 PM - Estimated arrival time at La Grange High School.

Parents may take their students directly home after the concert or have them ride the bus back to the school. If you wish to take your student with you after the concert, we will place a sign out sheet for each band at the front near the front of the stage. This will help us with the group riding back on the buses.

You are welcome to direct questions to chris.cooper@lgisd.net. Once more, I apologize for the inconvenience this change will cause, especially for our high school families. Thank you to everyone for your cooperation and understanding as we make the best of the situation. This will be an amazing opportunity for all our band students and a spectacular way to cap off what has been a historic year for the program.
