Career & Technical Education

Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with academic and technical skills to compete in the global workforce and/or to continue their education at the post-secondary level after graduation.  There are a variety of courses provided at La Grange High School with comprehensive career concentrations approved by Texas Education Agency.

La Grange ISD offers career and technical education programs of study in Agribusiness, Carpentry, Accounting & Financial Services, Marketing & Sales, Early Learning, Teaching & Training, Exercise Science & Wellness, Healthcare Diagnostics, Culinary Arts, Health & Wellness, Welding, Programming & Software Development, Advanced Manufacturing & Machinery Mechanics, and Engineering. Admission to these programs is based on student interest, age, and grade requirements specified by the Texas Education Agency. CTE is an essential component of the total educational program at La Grange ISD.

CTE HAPPENINGS

The team of Natalie Shepherd and Spencer Ingram took 2nd place in the Microsoft Access competition at the 2021 Texas State University IT Symposium on Friday, October 8. 22 students from La Grange High School’s Computer Science CTE courses attended the symposium, where they heard from industry leaders & educators in emerging technology fields.
