Welcome to La Grange ISD. The 2009-2010 School year has arrived! The staff at La Grange ISD are prepared to provide quality education for the children in this community.

The new year brings a number of challenges. State health officials are warning of a possible outbreak of H1N1 flu during the fall. I encourage parents and interested community members to follow the latest news and information at www.texasflu.org or www.flu.gov.  Health officials are no longer recommending school closures due to a single case of H1N1. La Grange ISD will respond in a manner similar to an outbreak of seasonal flu. You can help by encouraging basic hygiene and health care.  Hand cleanser will be available in the cafeteria and the school nurse will be providing information to parents during the first two weeks of school.

La Grange ISD will implement a new emergency communication system that will enable timely news sent to parents and local media in the event schools need to close due to illness or weather.

Lastly, Please be cautious as your negotiate around the La Grange ISD campuses during the coming school year.  Our children are a tremendous blessing, take time to slow down.

Thank you,

Randy Albers
