Texas Education Code §39.053 requires each district’s board of trustees to publish an annual report that includes the AEIS (Academic Excellence Indicator System); campus performance objectives; a report of violent and criminal incidents; and information received under Texas Education Code §51.403(e) from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. A public hearing shall be held for discussion of the report, and it shall be widely disseminated within the district. The following information is included in this report.
District and campus A.E.I.S. reports.
The A.E.I.S. reports pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students at each school and district in Texas every year. The performance indicators are:
- State-administered assessment performance by grade, by subject, and by all grades tested;
- State-administered assessment participation by grade, by subject, and by all grades tested;
- Progress of Prior Year TAKS Failers;
- Student Success Initiative Data for Grades 3, 5, and 8;
- Attendance rate for the entire year;
- Dropout rate (by year);
- Completion and dropout rates (4 year longitudinal);
- College Readiness Indicators: Advanced Course/Dual Enrollment Completion, RHSP/DAP Graduates, Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IP) results;
- Texas Success Initiative (TSI) – Higher Education Readiness Component (Inlcudes TAKS (Accommodated));
- SAT/ACT Results.
Comparable Improvement and Campus Comparison Reports - (CI) is a measure that shows how student performance on the TAKS reading/ELA and mathematics tests at a given school has changed (or grown) from one year to the next, and then compares that change to that of the 40 schools that are demographically most similar to the given, or "target" school. The average Texas Growth Index (TGI) values for the 40 member group are rank ordered and the resulting list is divided into fourths, or quartiles. Schools that fall into the first quartile (i.e. top 10 schools of the 40 in their campus grou) receive Gold Performance Acknowledgment for CI. Click here to view the report
The Annual Performance Report of Violent or Criminal Incidents includes the number, rate, and type of violent or criminal incidents that occurred on each district campus, to the extent permitted under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) during the reported school year.
