CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Both 7th and 8th Grade Football Teams for becoming the District 23 - 3A Champions on 11/3/11. The 7th grade defeated Smithville 18-6 and the 8th grade 13-8, completing an undefeated district season.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Both 7th and 8th Grade Basketball Teams for taking 2nd Place in the Columbus Tournament this past weekend.
MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK begins Monday, February 6th. Practice times for running events will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the athletic periods. There will be special times for the specialty events, either before or after school, depending on the availability of each Coach.
If you are a student wishing to participate in track, but aren't in the athletic period, you will need to consult with a Coach. At that time you will be advised on procedure and informed about getting a physical along with all LGISD paperwork completed before you will be allowed to participate.
Weekly Basketball Schedule:
Monday 30th - 8th Grade basketball on the court @ 7am. Agility Drills and Conditioning.
7th Grade practice from 3:20 - 4:30. Agility Drills and Conditioning. 7th grade basketballers to be picked up at the MS Gym.
Tuesday 31st - 8th Grade No Practice.
7th Grade No Practice.
Wednesday 1st - 8th Grade basketball on the court @ 7am. Agility Drills and Conditioning.
7th Grade practice from 3:20 - 4:30. Agility Drills and Conditioning. 7th grade basketballers to be picked up at the MS Gym.
Thursday 2nd - 8th Grade No Practice.
7th Grade No Practice.
Friday 3rd - 8th Grade basketball NO PRACTICE. Be at the fieldhouse and dressed out by 8:05 am.
7th Grade basketball NO PRACTICE. They will be transported back to the Middle School from the fieldhouse following offseason workout. If you pick your student/athlete up after school, you can do so at the MS.
***** 8th Grade Off-Season will leave the MS @ 7:50, or can be dropped off at the fieldhouse in order to be dressed and in the weightroom by 8:05, ready for work.
***** 7th Grade Off-Season will be bussed to the weightroom for workouts, and then bussed back to the MS to ride their busses home. Unless an athletes Parent works at the High School, or lives next to the HS, all athletes will ride back to the MS.
***** Athletes may ride home with parents after games/events. However, they can only be released to their parents by the coach, and parents can only take their student/athlete. NO ATHLETE WILL BE RELEASED TO RIDE WITH FRIENDS OR RELATIVES (Parents Only). Once the team has returned home, the athletes are expected to be picked up within a reasonable amount of time.
