Camyrn Smith

Camryn Smith, a 6th grader from Hermes/Intermediate in La Grange, attended the Fuel Up To Play 60 Summit at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, July 16-19.  This program promotes dairy, healthy eating, and 60 minutes of daily exercise.  Camryn is pictured with her Group Leader Viren Asrani from New Jersey, and she was one of the two State Ambassadors chosen to represent the state of Texas at this leadership conference.  She learned new ways to implement the Fuel Up To Play 60 program at her school, improved her leadership skills, participated in a Parfait cooking challenge, and presented a “Shark Tank” pitch where she earned $1,000 to purchase a breakfast cart for her school’s Grab and Go breakfast program.  La Grange ISD has been participating in the Fuel Up To Play 60 program for 6 years.
