The La Grange ISD is launching a new public relations campaign to increase student, parent and community engagement using technology. It is part of a larger effort to inform the La Grange ISD community of the positive stories that happen inside the district. The district is releasing a new mobile application for the iPhone and Android. The mobile app will contain school information such as events, sports scores, cafeteria menus, emergency notifications and other pertinent information. The effort is in partnership with Apptegy, an education technology company based in Little Rock, Arkansas.
La Grange ISD is taking this initiative to engage community members on the devices they use most. Research shows that Americans use mobile technologies at twice the rate of desktop computers. With the newly adopted tools, the administration and teaching staff can share across all of these communication channels.
The district will continue to have its presence on the Internet with its website, www.lgisd.net. However, with the addition of the smartphone app, news, calendar events, our new live feed and other functions will sync between the app and the website. So whether a guest utilizes the smartphone app or website, all of the information will be the same.
To get the smartphone app, please visit the Apple App Store, or if using an Android device, please visit the Google Play store. In either store, search for “La Grange ISD”. Once downloaded, the guest has an opportunity to received notifications from the campuses and district. Our staff will be uploading helpful tutorials on how to use the app and find relative information.
